Travel & Visa

Most of you are traveling to India for the first time, but don’t worry — we’ve compiled a helpful guide below.

Flights

Bengaluru is one of India’s major cities and India’s tech hub (nicknamed Silicon Valley of India), located in the Southern state of Karnataka. There are multiple flights from the US that take you to its airport, Kempegowda International Airport (BLR).

We recommend choosing an airline with a layover in Europe, or the Middle East (Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, or Emirates). This is a great way to break the trip, and visit another place too!

Travel Itinerary

We recommend arriving at least on Feb 20th, and staying till Feb 25th night or 26th. This will give you time to settle in, and also shop for Indian attire (if needed) before the wedding. You are obviously welcome to arrive earlier/stay longer, should you wish to!

On Arrival

Keep a printed copy of your approved e-visa* to show the Customs officer. They will ask you why you are visiting and where you are staying, so keep printed copies of your hotel info and e-invite. (*Scroll down for visa info below)

Once your flights are booked, let us know your ticket information. We will arrange to have you picked up from the airport and taken to your hotel. For more info about your hotel options, click here.

Hotel

We have blocked rooms at The Chancery Pavilion under a discounted group rate. If you’d like to avail this, please get in touch at vaish.rob.2025@gmail.com or call us ASAP, and we can help you with booking and payment details.

This is a beautiful hotel close to Bangalore’s prime shopping/eating areas, has a rooftop brewery, and is a 6 min walk to the Cocktail venue. The Air Show happens in February and rooms get booked out very quickly, so please confirm with us ASAP if you’d like to stay here!

Visa Information

Foreign citizens are required to get an “e-tourist visa” in advance. You can apply for this online, and it usually comes in a few days. The website is dated, but you can get through the application in an hour with a little patience and preparation.

Rob has gone through this process twice, so feel free to ask us any questions you may have.
